Bausch + Lomb is one of the world’s largest manufacturer and provider of products for eye health including contact lenses, lens care products and solutions, vitamins and nutritional aids, and other medical devices and apparatus used in eye diseases like glaucoma. Contacts make up about 1/3rd of the business revenue. Valeant Pharmaceuticals acquired B+L in August of 2013 and it is yet unclear whether B+L will continue as the lead brand or that of Valeant so we have included them both.

Coopervision, Inc . is a subsidiary of The Cooper Companies, a group of companies that devoted to ocular sciences entirely. Coopervision was formed in 1980 and operates in over 100 countries providing spherical and specialty lenses for varying wearing and replacement schedules. Coopervision products have a wide regard within the optical industry for the ability to solve difficult vision and fitting issues. After their acquisition of Ocular Science in 2004 Coopervision became the third largest manufacturer of contact lenses in the world.

Vistakon is a part of Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc. and as part of J&J family of companies, Vistakon taps into an the wealth of capabilities of this multinational corporation. J&J has considerable involvement with medical devices and consumer products sold the world over including vision care products offered through Vistakon. As an example of the reach of Vistakon and its products, more people around the world wear Acuvue Brand Contact lenses than any other contact lens brand or product available.

Unilens Vision Inc., maker of C-Vue contact lenses, is billed as the specialty lens provider to independent eye care professional because of their history of providing specialty contact lenses directly to eye care practitioners for hard to fit and non-traditional contact lens patients. Unilens provides a line of lenses for patients with astigmatism and presbyopia that for years did not have an available contact lens option until popularized by Unilens. Unilens was established in 1989 and is based in Largo, Florida.
